Monday 18 June - Hampton Court to Desborough Island
The morning was spent giving Starry Night a good clean inside and out. Our last chance to get rid of salty deposits before handing her over to the yard that's going to fix the dent. In the afternoon we sauntered up to Desborough Island and moored up for the night. The main task here was to finish off all the bottled beer that would pass its sell by date before our next trip!
Tuesday 19 June - Desborough Island to Shepperton Marina and so home
It was less than 30 minutes to Shepperton Marina and soon we were moored up under the yard crane. The experts from Linden Lewis Marine cast their eyes over the dent left by the hire boat Top Gem 1, and the best means of repair was agreed in principal. By the time we had finished, Mike's brother Ian had arrived to give us and our "stuff" a lift back to Abingdon to retrieve our car. We said goodbye to Starry Night and headed off home. Its been an eventful trip, sometimes for all the wrong reasons, but there were still plenty of good bits to remember. If only the weather ............................. (again!!!!)
